Operatic Encounters: Common Voices (EU CCF)
Operatic Encounters, Common Voices aimed to use opera as the medium to explore creative process within, and social position of, the art form, and to develop long lasting partnerships and improved cultural understanding between Europe and China. Workshops, performances and research involved academics, students, practitioners, and cultural industries professionals. Outcomes to date include a symposium, two articles, a PhD student, inclusion in taught modules, student exchange agreements, academic and professional exchanges, opera production interactions, international citation, a scholars’ archive including documentation of the artists’ creative process, new research and project proposals.
