What made you want to apply to your MA course and to Leeds?

The cultural and creative industries are well developed in the UK and Leeds is a city that is rich in culture with interesting galleries, museums and theatres to visit. The University of Leeds has a wealth of experienced staff and links with organisations within the cultural sector which is what attracted me to the MA in Culture, Creative Industries and Entrepreneurship.

What aspects of the course did you enjoy the most?

Tutors provided us with great support, not only the theoretical knowledge but also gave us opportunities to experience theories in practice. For instance, we visited exhibitions in London and they supported us in finding placements with companies.

What would you say about Leeds as a city?

Leeds is a big city but not too big to feel crowded. Also, a very important point, the cost of living in Leeds is realistic when you  are a student. Its position in relation to other UK cities is excellent with London and Manchester within easy reach. Transport networks surrounding Leeds are also easy to access.

What would you say about the learning facilities in your School and at the University in general?

The size of the school is small which was a positive experience, staff are very professional, efficient and are a warm group!

What other activities are available for students to take part in outside of their studies, and which ones have you tried out yourself?

There so many additional activities for students to take part in whilst studying at Leeds.  My hobby is singing and dancing, I had a really great time in the chorus group and dancing groups of the university. I was also a School Representative during my time in the School, this has helped me gain a lot of transferable skills that will help me when I graduate, as well as meet many great friends outside the School, at Leeds University Union.

What would you say to anyone thinking of applying to your course?

Leeds is amazing come and join us!

What do you plan to do now you’ve finished your course, and how do you think the skills and knowledge you’ve developed at Leeds will help with these plans?

I would like to work for a company within the cultural sector. I have gained a lot of theoretical knowledge as well as developing my social skills. I believe what I’ve learned in Leeds will help me in my future career plan.
