The Next Stage – MA Personal Development Day

 

 

 

 

 

With a background in Communication Science and business development, Fabien Baugard has been working in careers and employability for the last seven years. He started as a Placement Officer at Leeds Beckett University, then Employability Partnership Manager at Leeds Trinity University. He is now a Careers Adviser for the National Careers Service and he has a keen interest in the arts sector.

10:00-12:00 – Introduction

Personal Branding Workshop

– Presentation: what is personal branding?

– Business Etiquette: how to interact with business professionals in the UK?

– Role-play activity: present yourself in front of your peers (in groups of 2-3)

12:00-13:00 – Careers and Employability Advice

Drop-in sessions with a focus on the cultural and creative sector labour market in the UK

 

13:00-14:00 – Lunch break

 

14:00 – 16:00 – Interview Workshop

– The different types of interviews

– How to read and interpret an advert for the cultural and creative sector

– Role-play activities: interview each other in turn based on a typical job advert from the cultural and creative industries
